Keep the product definition together
Use BOMs to show purchased components, manufactured parts and subassemblies. Keep versions, drawings and datasheets with the information your team uses to prepare each batch.
Explore product BOMs →Product manufacturers & light assembly
Start the next production batch from a defined parts list and clear assembly operations. Jems brings product BOMs, component requirements, stock, purchasing and recorded work together for finished products and light assembly.
Defined products, repeatable work
Repeating a product means repeating component and operation decisions. Use the product structure to review what the batch needs, then record assembly work to inform future estimates.
Manufacturing workflows to explore
Use BOMs to show purchased components, manufactured parts and subassemblies. Keep versions, drawings and datasheets with the information your team uses to prepare each batch.
Explore product BOMs →Bring batch quantities together with stock and purchasing through MRP. Follow the requirements for parts you manufacture as well as the components you need to buy.
Explore batch material planning →Define operations and follow works orders through production. Record progress and shop-floor time, then review operational variance when considering the costing assumptions for a repeat batch.
Explore assembly tracking →An example product batch
Follow an illustrative batch of 30 bench-mounted clamps. Review the manufactured housing and purchased components, plan the batch requirements, then follow machining and assembly work.
01 / Define the product
The clamp combines a housing you manufacture with bought-in threaded parts, pads and fasteners.
Explore product structures & BOMs| Component | Per clamp | For 30 clamps |
|---|---|---|
| Housing | 1 | 30 |
| Threaded spindle | 1 | 30 |
| Jaw pad | 2 | 60 |
Keep the BOM version, drawings and operations alongside the product information used to prepare the batch.
02 / Plan the batch
Bring the batch quantities together with stock and purchasing so the component requirements are clear.
Explore batch material planning| Component | Qty | Supply arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| Housing | 30 | Manufacture |
| Threaded spindle | 30 | Purchase / stock |
| Jaw pad | 60 | Purchase / stock |
Follow the requirements for manufactured components as well as the items your business needs to purchase.
03 / Record the work
Define the production operations and record progress and time against the work.
Explore shop-floor time capture| Job information | Sample value |
|---|---|
| Part | CLP-030 |
| Batch quantity | 30 clamps |
| Operations | Machining → assembly |
Review recorded work and operational variance before changing the costing assumptions for a repeat batch.
Check your requirements
Bring a finished product’s BOM, a recent batch and an example of how customer orders become production work.
Defined product structures, versions, manufactured and purchased components, material planning, stock, assembly operations, progress and recorded time.
Product variants, packing, replenishment, demand forecasting and channel integrations. Include any recipe, formulation, yield or shelf-life requirements separately.
Product Configurator and Scheduling are targeted for Q4 2026. Engineering Change Control and broader Production Quality are on the 2027 roadmap. See the product roadmap for development targets.

Jems connects defined part structures, material requirements, customer orders and works orders. Bring examples of your repeat batches and customer-specific work so we can follow how you prepare and release production in each case.
Yes. Multi-level BOMs can combine bought-in components with manufactured parts and subassemblies. Those product structures connect with material planning and production operations.
The batches described here are quantities of identifiable products made from parts and assembly operations. Recipes, formulations, yield calculations and shelf-life controls are different requirements. Include them in the assessment if they are part of your manufacturing process.
Jems Standard includes 25 shop-floor-only workers alongside 10 full-access users. Shop-floor workflows include job progress and time capture. We demonstrate the access appropriate to your team’s roles; see pricing for the package and additional access.
The same Jems Standard subscription applies across these industry workflows: £1,249 per month excluding VAT, including 10 full-access users and 25 shop-floor-only workers. Additional access is sold in blocks; larger deployments receive a tailored quote. Implementation, migration and training are scoped and quoted separately. Use the team pricing calculator to explore your subscription.
We agree a timetable after reviewing your data, workflows and training needs. The scope defines the records and history to migrate, validation checks, responsibilities and the planned cutover. Your team has time to check migrated records and test representative jobs before go-live.
