  • Customer-specific jobs
  • Purchased-material work
  • Free-issue assembly
  • Mixed-material orders

Check your requirements

Start with your job.
Check the important detail.

Bring a customer order and its BOM. Show us what you make, what you buy and what the customer supplies.

Available to demonstrate

Customer quoting, material requirements, purchased and customer-owned stock, free-issue requirements, works orders, time capture, goods-in inspection, quarantine and returns.

Assess with our team

Customer-specific traceability and inspection evidence, shortage and damaged-material processes, portals and automated customer reporting.

Planned development

Subcontracting, Engineering Change Control and broader Production Quality are on the 2027 roadmap. Subcontracting concerns work you send to a supplier; your business manufacturing for a customer is a separate workflow. See the product roadmap for development targets.

Your questions

Jems for contract manufacturing.

Do we need separate catalogue parts for our stock and customer stock?

No. Jems manages purchased and customer-owned material against the same part record while retaining ownership information and free-issue requirements. You can demonstrate the distinction using a part you both purchase and receive from customers.

Can one job include purchased and free-issue components?

Yes. Jems records free-issue requirements alongside the manufacturing workflow, allowing a customer’s job to include both purchased and customer-owned material. Bring the BOM and supply arrangements so we can show how the requirements are represented.

Is contract manufacturing the same as the planned Subcontracting feature?

This page describes your business manufacturing for a customer. The planned Subcontracting feature concerns managing production operations your business sends to an outside supplier. The two workflows are distinct; dedicated Subcontracting is on the 2027 roadmap.

Can we check customer-specific traceability and inspection requirements?

Yes. Bring the references, reports and evidence the customer expects. Current functionality includes stock trace numbers, goods-in inspection, quarantine and returns. We assess the required detail rather than assuming those records satisfy every customer’s requirements.

What does Jems cost for this manufacturing workflow?

The same Jems Standard subscription applies across these industry workflows: £1,249 per month excluding VAT, including 10 full-access users and 25 shop-floor-only workers. Additional access is sold in blocks; larger deployments receive a tailored quote. Implementation, migration and training are scoped and quoted separately. Use the team pricing calculator to explore your subscription.

How long does implementation take?

We agree a timetable after reviewing your data, workflows and training needs. The scope defines the records and history to migrate, validation checks, responsibilities and the planned cutover. Your team has time to check migrated records and test representative jobs before go-live.
