Electronics & electrical manufacturing

ERP for electronics
& electrical assemblies.

Review the components an assembly needs, what you must buy and what the customer supplies. Jems brings component BOMs, quoting, purchasing, stock ownership and production time together for PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, control panels and electrical subassemblies.

Components, supply & ownership

Know what the assembly needs before the work starts.

A component requirement, supplier quote and stores record each answer a different question. Bring them together with the assembly’s BOM and operations so your team can review supply arrangements and the work behind the estimate.

Manufacturing workflows to explore

  • PCB assemblies
  • Cable harnesses
  • Control panels
  • Electrical subassemblies

Start from a clear component list

Use multi-level BOMs for components and subassemblies, with versions, drawings and datasheets alongside them. Include assembly operations in the estimate so the parts and work have a shared reference.

Explore component BOMs →

Review the purchasing requirement

Bring component needs together with stock and MRP. Check live price and availability through supported supplier integrations, with coverage confirmed against the suppliers your team uses.

Explore purchasing & suppliers →

Identify customer-supplied parts

Keep the customer’s ownership and the job’s free-issue requirements visible alongside purchased material. Use the same catalogue part while retaining who owns the stock.

Explore customer-owned stock →

An example assembly job

A repeat batch of control panels.

Follow an illustrative batch of 20 control panels. Review the BOM quantities, separate purchased components from customer-supplied modules, and follow wiring, assembly and test operations.

01 / Define the BOM

Give every component a place in the panel.

An enclosure, terminals and an electrical module sit in the same assembly structure, alongside drawings and datasheets.

Terminal 12 240
Electrical module 1 20

The BOM provides the component quantities to review when preparing the batch and the manufacturing estimate.

02 / Plan components

Separate what you buy from what is supplied.

Material planning brings requirements together with stock and purchasing. In this example, the customer supplies the electrical modules.

03 / Record assembly

See the time behind the finished panel.

Define wiring, assembly and test as production operations and record the work against the job.

Your questions

Jems for electronic & electrical assembly.

Can we manage components supplied by a customer?

Yes. Jems records purchased and customer-owned material against the same part record, retaining ownership and free-issue requirements. We can demonstrate a mixed-material assembly using an example of your customer’s job.

Does Jems connect to every electronics supplier?

Live pricing and stock are available through supported supplier integrations. Coverage is checked against your supplier list during the demo. Purchasing and goods book-in workflows are explained on the purchasing & suppliers page.

Can we record assembly and test time?

Production operations can represent the work your team performs, including assembly and test activities. Shop-floor time capture and operational variance reporting help you compare recorded work with the estimate. Bring your operation list so we can demonstrate how the time is recorded.

How do we check our traceability and quality requirements?

Bring an example component trace reference and the records you need to supply to a customer. Jems has stock trace numbers, goods-in inspection, quarantine and returns workflows. We review the level of traceability and quality evidence you require rather than assuming those records satisfy every customer or regulatory requirement.

What does Jems cost for this manufacturing workflow?

The same Jems Standard subscription applies across these industry workflows: £1,249 per month excluding VAT, including 10 full-access users and 25 shop-floor-only workers. Additional access is sold in blocks; larger deployments receive a tailored quote. Implementation, migration and training are scoped and quoted separately. Use the team pricing calculator to explore your subscription.

How long does implementation take?

We agree a timetable after reviewing your data, workflows and training needs. The scope defines the records and history to migrate, validation checks, responsibilities and the planned cutover. Your team has time to check migrated records and test representative jobs before go-live.
